Top award for BGTC

Bournemouth Gardens Tennis Centre is now a "Full Beacon Tennis facility", with only a handful of clubs in the country being presented with this status.
Full Beacon status is in recognition of the public facility offering the local community a sustainable, fun and affordable tennis experience. Sue Mappin from the LTA (chief executive of the Tennis Foundation) presented the Beacon plaque to the club on Monday 10th May 2010.
With recognition of becoming a Beacon site, Bournemouth Gardens Tennis Centre was granted funding which was used to upgrade computer facilities. The funding has been a massive help to the Tennis Centre, with the ability to communicate to all players and members through different channels. The club has to continue hitting certain criteria to retain Beacon status, but with continued development on and off the court the centre is looking forward to continuing improvements for members, players and the game.
